Short travel report from Iran in May 2022
It was a daring thought to undertake a two-week trip to Iran in these times. Considering everything one can currently read and hear about Iran, such as the information provided by the Federal Foreign Office: "German nationals are at risk of being prevented from entering Iran, arbitrarily detained, interrogated, and potentially sentenced to long prison terms" or "Non-essential travel to Iran is strongly discouraged. This particularly applies to tourist trips." Nevertheless, I was determined to finally venture on a journey to the Middle East. In Iran, these concerns did not materialize, and all expectations were exceeded. We always stayed in top-notch accommodations with excellent and attentive service, and we were greeted with utmost courtesy, as if among long-time friends.
