In the morning, a flight from Tehran to Ahvaz, followed by a drive from Ahvaz to Shushtar. Explore the complex irrigation systems built during the Sassanid era over 1800 years ago (a UNESCO World Heritage site). Visit the Bazaar of Shushtar and enjoy dinner at the Mostofi Restaurant, located directly on the large river.

Continuation to Susa, the ancient city and the oldest city in the world in Mesopotamia. In Susa, visit the Apadana Palace from the Achaemenid dynasty, dating back to 550 BCE (a UNESCO World Heritage site), and the Mausoleum of the Jewish prophet Daniel, who was in Babylonian captivity. Explore Chogha Zanbil from the Elamite period.

Early morning drive through the romantic and bizarre Zagros Mountains to Khorramabad in Lorestan Province, one of the most beautiful and green landscapes in Iran. We will visit the Bishe Waterfall and possibly have the chance to visit the Bakhtiari nomads in their tents.

The next day, we will explore the Falakolaflak Fortress from the Sassanid dynasty (pre-Islamic period). Then, we'll head towards Kermanshah, founded by the Sassanid ruler Bahram. In Kermanshah, we'll visit Taghe Bostan, home to the large and well-preserved rock reliefs of the Sasanians. We'll also explore Tekie Moavenolmolk, known for its beautiful tilework and colors, and the original bazaar of Kermanshah. The day will conclude with dinner in the Zagros Mountains.

Afterwards, we'll drive towards Bisotun, where, on the steep mountain, you'll find the relief of the Achaemenid king Darius, crowned by Ahura Mazda. The journey will then continue towards Hamedan.

In Hamedan, at the Alvand Mountains, we'll explore the Hegmataneh excavations, an extensive ancient city (a UNESCO World Heritage site). Then, we'll visit the Treasure Trove in the Alvand Mountains, featuring panels with Elamite, Babylonian, and Old Persian inscriptions from the Achaemenid era. We'll also visit the Mausoleum of Avicenna, the renowned Persian physician, philosopher, and astronomer, where we'll learn about his works and life.

On this day, our journey takes us towards the Alborz Mountains until we reach Qazvin. In Qazvin, we'll visit the ancient Caravanserai Saadolsaltane, the Forty Columns Palace, and the Friday Mosque.

Iranian Hotel Quazvin ****

We'll travel to Masouleh in the Gilan Province, a village built in terraces on the steep slope of the Alborz Mountains. Then, we'll head to Fuman, exploring the Hyrcanian forests along the Caspian Sea, and visit Bandar Anzali with its beautiful lagoon and water lilies. Bandar Anzali is the capital of Iranian caviar.

On this day, we'll journey back to Tehran via the Chalus Road, one of the most scenic mountain roads in Persia. We'll make several stops for sightseeing and photography, passing by the large Tehran dam along the way.

Rest, shopping, a visit to the bazaar, free time, and optional sightseeing. We'll have a farewell dinner in the Alborz Mountains.
